WARWOUND / WAR//PLAGUE – “Forlorn” Split EP 
What can say but holy shit was I impressed by this EP. Having been a fan for of both bands for years I thought I could expect some of the same old, same old from each band. I could not have been more wrong. This EP is a serious upgrade from each bands previous recordings.

WARWOUND aggressively come at you with fresh studio version’s of two classic WARWOUND tracks plus the addition of a brand new one song called “Faith or Fear”. The freshly resurrected WARWOUND sound is a cluster bomb of hardcore punk. I?n my opinion Rat’s vocals sound better then they have in any of his other projects. The closest comparison I can think of sound wise is it reminds me of THE EXPLOITED “Beat the Bastards” era… but with brains, which is honestly a very good thing!

On the WAR//PLAGE side you get 2 new tracks on the EP (the CD vervion has a bonus third track a reversion of the song “Centrifuge” taken from their split with VASTATION). On this recording WAR//PLAGUE come at us a bit more raw and angry then they have on previous records. I feel a huge influence from bands like SEVERD HEAD OF STATE & STATE OF FEAR.

Overall this EP is absolutely killer and quite possible my favorite stuff (so far) from each band. Highly recommended!
