I have decided to add a new page to the blog. Up until now this blog has been my own personal interpretation of punk and local punk bands that were around Carlisle in the 1980s. Other people have contributed their written memories which I have published, and others have left comments.
To get an further idea of what life was like in the 1980s, being in a punk band and a part of the small but intensive music scene that was around in Carlisle, Penrith and elsewhere; I thought to try and get people to tell us in their own words what memories and impression they had via a series of interviews.
Here is the first in a series of interviews with people who were around at the time and who either played in the bands or in some way were a part of the local music scene:
I interviewed Pod on a windy day, down by the railway line at West Walls, Carlisle. Not the best of venues to do a recording, as trains were passing every few minutes, and it was in front of a car park so cars, motorbikes were also in the background; so you will hear sounds from the streets…
